Sarah is a New York City-based yoga instructor. She teaches ashtanga-influenced, athletic vinyasa sequences with an eye towards self-awareness. Sarah also teaches prenatal, postnatal and parent & baby yoga classes, offering parents and parents-to-be the opportunity to connect more deeply with their bodies and babies as they transition into parenthood.
Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Sarah played field hockey at Kenyon College, where her coach incorporated yoga into practice to bring focus and calm to the otherwise aggressive sport. It was there, faced with injury that ultimately ended her time on the team, that she began to listen to her body and use her breath deliberately. After several years working high-stress environments in New York City, Sarah left a career in nonprofit management to turn her attention to wellbeing full time. She completed Yoga Vida's 200-hour training in 2015 while she was pregnant with her son and Yogaview's 85-hour prenatal yoga training shortly thereafter. While she was pregnant with her daughter, she trained in Subtle Body practices (including pranayama, activating the chakra system, and kundalini yoga) with Kajuan Douglas at Sky Ting Yoga. She currently teaches classes at Yoga Vida and private and group lessons around the city.
